Flash Player ‘Gala’ – hardware decoding for Mac OS X

Six days ago Apple has enabled low-level access to NVIDIA GeForce 9400M, 320M and GT 330M H.264 GPU hardware in latest release of Mac OS X Snow Leopard. Today Adobe already released a preview version of Flash Player (code name ‘Gala’) which introduces support for H.264 video hardware decoding on Mac OS X 10.6.3 You can download the release here.

Thats really great news because the performance of Flash Player on mac is much worse then on Windows. New functionality will be included in update fallowing the release of Flash Player 10.1

After all Adobe and Apple can work together, thats good news but overall it wont change anything in the battle between Apple and Adobe…
