Strobe, new product from Adobe

Adobe will offer a standard open framework, code-named Strobe, that accelerates and simplifies media player creation for the Adobe Flash Platform. The idea is to help focus publishers on the user experience and not on technical details while building a media player for their website. For the developers Strobe will provide tools that will help build robust feature-rich media players for Flash.

Core Features:

  • Enables the development of high-quality playback experiences
  • Provides a standard open framework
  • Helps publishers monetize their video content
  • Allows integration with partner services via an open and extensible plug-in architecture
  • Simplifies custom player creation with standard, production-ready code
  • Helps reduce fragmentation and complexity in media player development
  • Supports the latest player features such as Dynamic Streaming and DVR functionality

I think Strobe is a good idea, the custom flv player in flash kinda sucks for me ;P
